*Spoilers ahead*

After the fourth great ninja war Naruto loses his right arm which proves to be a great loss for him. For those who may not know Naruto lost his arm after an epic ALL-OUT Rasengan-Chidori clash against his life long rival Sasuke, which also results in the latter losing his left arm.

With that aside, how does Naruto gain his right arm back and why is it bandaged?
Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, prepared an artificial arm made from Hashirama’s cells which, according to Tsunade were “Brimming with vitality” and could’ve been cultivated. This helped the Medical staff to forge out an arm which wouldn’t have been rejected by the donor’s body and also equally effective.

As to why Naruto always keeps it bandaged, well that is solely because of the fact that Hashirama’s cells, when exposed to the natural surroundings turn into life force, in our case, a tree. And as we have had seen before too, White zatsu’s enhanced by Hashirama’s cells, when came into contact with Naruto’s Nine-Tails Chakra turned into trees.

Speaking of the abilities granted to Naruto with the prosthetic arm. His healing prowess increase by a drastic rate even to the point when all it takes is a few mere seconds to fill in the wound caused by a sword pierced through the body. Aside from that, it is not sure wether he can perform the Wood Release abilities even though he has Hashirama’s cells and he should be logically able to use that.

The cell’s healing abilities, along with Kurama’s influence and Naruto’s Uzumaki heritage help him to recover from any minor to major physical damage caused to his body, making him a formidable opponent. Not that he isn’t strong without it but these sure add up.
